Welcome to the exciting world of Adventures in Character, affectionately referred to as AiC! AiC is a ministry of Shepherd’s Staff Ministries, Inc., a nonprofit 501(c)(3) in the state of Kansas. AiC is dedicated to equipping generations to boldly share the gospel of Jesus Christ. We produce thematic children’s programs with original drama scripts, curricula, and songs, and offer training and mentoring for young people interested in honing their talents and skills for service in various ministry opportunities. We are grateful for the prayers, support, and co-laboring of hundreds of families every year that make this ministry possible! Please visit the Support AiC page to make a tax-deductible donation and find out about other ways to support the work of AiC.
One of our key partnerships is with the Teaching Parents Association homeschool convention each year, where we provide a children’s program for kids ages 6-12, enabling families to enjoy the benefits of attending the weekend convention together. Our goal is to come alongside parents in equipping their children to be successful. Students are encouraged and challenged to build their lives upon the unchanging Truth of God’s Word, learning how to apply it to their daily circumstances.
The weekend kid’s program is organized into assemblies and small group sessions. Assemblies include an ongoing drama based on the theme for the weekend, songs, Scripture memory and a few fun surprises along the way. Object lessons, hands-on projects and games–designed to reinforce the Biblical principles being introduced in the drama–are included in the small group sessions. These sessions are led by trained AiC volunteers, many of whom are former homeschool students and graduates. A presentation by the students for their parents is held at the end of the TPA Convention on Saturday.
If you are interested in volunteering with AiC, please look over the volunteer opportunities and fill out an application in the Volunteer area of our website. To register children for the kid’s program at the TPA homeschool convention, visit the Teacher Parents Association website and complete the registration information on the same form as the adult registrations.
